What is Lycon Rosette hot wax?
Lycon is widely regarded as one of the finest professional waxing brands in the world, and their Rosette hot wax is our choice for all sensitive and delicate areas. Unlike strip wax, which is applied in a thin layer and removed with a cloth, hot wax is applied more thickly and removed by hand once it has set. This means it grips the hair rather than the skin — making it significantly more comfortable and far less likely to cause redness or irritation.
The Rosette formula contains a blend of caring ingredients including rose extracts, which help to soothe and calm the skin during treatment. The result is a thorough, precise wax that is gentle enough for even the most reactive skin.
Which areas is it used for?
We use Lycon Rosette hot wax for:
- Bikini and intimate waxing
- Underarms
- The face — including lip, chin and eyebrows
- Any area where the skin is particularly sensitive or prone to reaction
What makes it different from strip wax?
Strip wax adheres to both the hair and the skin, which is why it can feel harsh — particularly on delicate areas or if you've had a reaction to waxing in the past. Hot wax shrink-wraps around the hair itself, so when it's removed it takes the hair cleanly without dragging on the skin. Many clients who have had uncomfortable waxing experiences elsewhere find hot wax a completely different — and much more positive — experience.
What should I do before my appointment?
Hair needs to be at least 5mm long for the wax to grip it properly — roughly two to three weeks of growth from a shave. Avoid applying any creams, oils or fake tan to the area on the day of your appointment. If you have any known skin sensitivities or allergies, just let us know when you book.
If you've avoided waxing because you've found it painful in the past, it's worth trying hot wax — it really is a gentler experience. Come and have a chat with us and we'll talk you through what to expect.
