Two years in the making
Danielle and Suzy have been part of the Hair Gallery family for two years now, training together here in the salon and travelling to Partners4Training in Uckfield together every week for their college days. They came in, put their heads down, and got on with it — week in, week out, without fuss. That consistency and commitment is exactly what earned them their distinctions.
What makes this even more special is how well they have worked together throughout. They have supported each other, pushed each other on, and arrived at the finish line side by side. We couldn't be more pleased for them both.
What a distinction really means
An NVQ distinction isn't given lightly. It means Danielle and Suzy didn't just meet the standard — they exceeded it across the board. Their technical work, their client communication, their professionalism throughout their training has all been of an exceptionally high level. Catherine, who has been training and assessing hairdressers for many years, says she is genuinely proud of what they have achieved.
What happens next — the Vardering programme
Qualifying is just the beginning. Danielle and Suzy are now embarking on the next stage of their journey — our Vardering programme. This is an intensive six-month in-salon training pathway designed to build the confidence, speed and advanced skill sets that a busy, modern salon like Hair Gallery demands. College covers the foundations brilliantly, but there is a whole world of technique, timing and real-world experience that only comes from working at pace in a professional environment. That's exactly what the Vardering programme delivers.
Over the coming months, they'll be working across the full range of salon services, taking on more complex work, and developing at a pace that will see them become fully-fledged stylists in their own right.
